Ed Applegate
CFO, Procentrix
One of Ed Applegate’s proudest recent achievements has been helping Procentrix navigate a challenging federal market while maintaining the financial strength and investor confidence needed to pursue the company’s long-term strategy.
Despite procurement delays, government shutdowns, and shifting market conditions, Procentrix sustained support from its investors and banking partners for both organic and acquisitive growth objectives. Procentrix closed the federal fiscal year with the strongest sales month in its 20-year history, positioning the company for continued success in 2027.
“Great CFOs do more than manage the financial health of a company,” said Mike Hughes, Procentrix CEO. “They create the discipline and capacity to invest in what comes next. Ed has been instrumental in aligning Procentrix’s financial strategy with the talent, innovation, and capabilities we need to help our customers modernize, improve mission outcomes and deliver greater value for taxpayers.”
Procentrix also believes government agencies should get greater value from their technology investments while improving mission effectiveness, security and responsiveness. A key part of that approach is helping customers fully leverage the return on their existing platform and software investments by extending capabilities, streamlining processes and reducing unnecessary complexity.
As CFO, Applegate’s role is to align financial strategy with investments in the talent, innovation and infrastructure needed to deliver that value.
“We are strengthening our capabilities in mission-ready AI, automation, secure data exchange and IT modernization to help agencies solve complex challenges without unnecessarily adding to their technology footprint,” Applegate said. “By combining financial discipline with mission-focused innovation, we aim to help government customers improve operational efficiency, accountability and service delivery while making better use of taxpayer resources.”
Why Watch
Procentrix is entering an exciting new chapter of growth, and Applegate is helping lead the financial and operational integration efforts that will enable the company to expand into new markets, strengthen strategic partnerships, and serve a broader federal customer base.
The company’s investments in scalable business systems, financial infrastructure and organizational capabilities have established a strong foundation for this next phase. Equally important is preserving the culture that has earned Procentrix recognition as a Top Workplace.
Successful growth is not simply about expanding the business. It is about bringing people, capabilities and organizations together in ways that create lasting value, Applegate said.
“I am blessed to have inherited a great team at Procentrix, thankful for the rigor and organizational foundation provided by the founders and the ongoing support from our investors — you all make this a great experience!” he added.
Fun fact: Throughout Applegate’s education and early career, he was heavily involved in Junior Achievement as a business educator in the classroom and by guiding other corporate volunteers to bring financial literacy to students. In 2026, he was honored to be selected to join the Greater Washington Junior Achievement board to continue to support the evolving programs that shape financial literacy and workforce readiness in the area.
