    Tom DeFrank

    CFO, ENSCO

Tom DeFrank’s biggest recent achievement was helping ENSCO’s support teams turn AI’s potential into practical improvements in their daily work. “I want them to recognize where AI can add value, gain confidence using it, and simplify routine tasks so they can devote more time to work that requires their experience and judgment,” DeFrank said.

That means starting with everyday challenges, encouraging people to share what works, and building on useful results. For DeFrank, success is measured by how AI helps ENSCO’s people work more effectively and make improvements they can sustain over time.

“I’m proud of our finance team’s integrity, teamwork and commitment to ENSCO’s success,” DeFrank said. “They’re the best!”

DeFrank is also helping government operate more efficiently by making costs and resource needs clearer early in the planning process. By helping ENSCO’s teams identify cost pressures sooner, plan resources more effectively, and simplify internal processes, they can help government customers get greater value from their budgets and keep resources focused on mission delivery. The goal is to give teams more time to evaluate options and address potential issues before they become larger obstacles to delivering the work.

    Why Watch

DeFrank and his team remain focused on strengthening the financial foundation for ENSCO’s growth through more accurate forecasting, disciplined cash management and practical applications of AI. Their priority is to make financial information actionable, help leaders anticipate challenges, understand trade-offs, and make timely decisions about where to invest resources.

“I want finance to be a practical partner in those conversations, connecting the numbers to operational priorities and helping teams understand how today’s decisions affect our ability to support future growth,” DeFrank said.

Fun fact: DeFrank is an antique buff. He enjoys discovering pieces of history and learning the stories behind them. Outside of work, he can be found on the golf course, exploring a museum or tending the vegetables and flowers in his garden.
