John Roman
Vice President, Contracts and Procurement, Everforth ECS
This year, John Roman was appointed to the National Contracts Management Association Board of Directors, named co-chair of the Washington Executive Contracts Council, and was selected as vice chair of the Professional Services Council Acquisition Conference.
“These leadership roles have enabled me to shape industry best practices and advance the contracting profession,” Roman said. “I could only undertake these commitments thanks to the exceptional support of Everforth ECS and our contracts, procurement and pricing teams, who continue to deliver outstanding results for our company.”
He also has a “pick up the phone” approach to business.
“Real communication doesn’t happen over email,” he said. “Email is a great way to document the conversation where the communication actually happened.”
Why Watch
In 2026, Roman and his team are focused on deepening customer relationships with contracting officers to drive both contract excellence and business growth at Everforth ECS.
“By truly understanding our customers’ needs and increasing communication with customers, we anticipate and prevent potential issues, propose innovative solutions for upcoming solicitations, and contribute directly to mission success,” Roman said. “This proactive, relationship-centered approach strengthens our partnerships and positions Everforth ECS as a trusted advisor in the government contracting space.”
Government contracting faces unprecedented change — Federal Acquisition Regulation revisions, outcome-based contracting mandates and workforce reductions — stretching contracting officers thin. Roman’s team improves efficiency by serving as proactive strategic partners who deliver ready-to-execute contract solutions.
They identify outcome-based contracting opportunities, streamline complex requirements and handle time-consuming administrative details. This partnership approach accelerates procurement timelines, frees contracting officers to focus on strategic priorities rather than tactical execution, and ultimately improves mission outcomes while reducing the burden on overstretched government teams.
Internally, Roman’s team embraces the use of AI in their daily workflows. They hired an intern this summer whose sole focus was meeting with team members and helping them find ways to use AI in daily tasks.
“We have found many use cases where AI truly helps us complete tasks more efficiently while still maintaining a human in the loop to ensure accuracy,” he said.
