Senior Vice President of Contracts, Amentum

Brianna Burnell’s biggest recent achievement has been leading the ongoing integration and alignment of Amentum’s Contracts and Subcontracts organizations into a more unified enterprise function supporting a $14 billion global company.

“We’ve made meaningful progress in bringing together teams, processes and technology while maintaining uninterrupted support for the business and our customers,” Burnell said.

As the transformation continues, Burnell is proud of what her team has accomplished and the stronger organization they are building together.

And as initiatives like the Revolutionary FAR Overhaul encourage a shift toward simpler, more mission-focused acquisitions, Burnell said Amentum is partnering with government customers to streamline contracting, increase transparency and identify innovative approaches that improve outcomes.

“We have a unique opportunity to help shape the future of acquisition by embracing innovation, strengthening collaboration and keeping the focus on mission success,” Burnell said.

    Why Watch

In 2026, Burnell and her team are focused on simplifying processes, leveraging AI and automation, and enabling Amentum’s professionals to spend more time advising the business and supporting customers’ missions.

They’re investing in the workforce by strengthening the skill sets and capabilities to solve complex business challenges and deliver practical, mission-focused solutions in an evolving acquisition environment. These efforts help shape a more agile, data-driven and mission-focused contracting organization.

“What motivates me most is building teams that solve complex problems and make a meaningful difference for our customers,” Burnell said. “I’m grateful to the leaders who believed in me, invested in my growth and provided opportunities throughout my career, and I strive to do the same for others. When you invest in people, encourage strategic thinking, and empower them to grow and lead, they often accomplish far more than they ever imagined possible.”

Fun fact: Burnell is a big Formula 1 fan. She enjoys the strategy behind every race and how the best teams combine preparation, data and teamwork to make informed decisions under pressure while adapting to constantly changing conditions.
