Senior Vice President of Global Talent, Amentum

Jason Cerrato has been working to unify Amentum’s talent strategy, after years of M&A, into a connected ecosystem that links talent acquisition, talent management, workforce planning and leadership development.

By both integrating and modernizing Amentum’s processes and infrastructure, Cerrato and his team are building the scalable foundation needed for future growth. They are now midway through a three-year transformation, and the impact is already showing up in the agility and readiness of Amentum’s leaders and workforce.

“Through Jason’s strategic vision and ability to harmonize talent acquisition, workforce planning and leadership development, he has not only positioned Amentum to deliver on today’s priorities but also to anticipate the workforce needs of tomorrow,” said Darren Burton, chief people officer at Amentum.

“His leadership, combined with the incredible work of our award-winning talent acquisition team, underscores Amentum’s commitment to attracting and developing top talent to support critical missions around the globe.”

    Why Watch

Cerrato and his team are helping government customers operate more efficiently by better predicting changing talent and skill needs. This helps ensure the programs Amentum supports have the right capabilities today while proactively preparing for tomorrow. It also strengthens performance, continuity and delivery for customers, while creating meaningful development pathways for internal team members as their roles evolve.

“Our team at Amentum is deeply committed to supporting the missions we serve around the world,” said Cerrato. “A mentor once told me, ‘Focus on your work, and you’ll be known for your results,’ and at Amentum we get to see those results in action every day. This year, our excellent talent acquisition team was named among the Top 100 Corporate TA teams — and we’re just getting started in our transformation journey.”

Fun fact: For nearly 30 years, Cerrato worked as a talent practitioner, an HR industry analyst and an HR technology vendor — essentially having the same conversation from three sides of the table. Cerrato has been honored with national recruiting awards, top analyst recognition and the HR Executive Top 100 on multiple occasions in multiple roles at different companies. “One achievement I’m especially proud of is helping launch the first STEM focused comic book for middle schoolers in partnership with the Society of Women Engineers,” Cerrato said.
