General Dynamics Information Technology has won a $510 million Worldwide Field Support contract from the U.S. Army Communications Electronics Command to continue supporting global logistics, sustainment and maintenance services.
The 5-year task order was initially awarded in July and includes one base year and four option years.
“From low-cost drones to sophisticated cyber threats, the battlefield is evolving faster than ever and increasing risks to our soldiers,” said Brian Sheridan, GDIT senior vice president for Defense.
“We look forward to continuing to work alongside our soldiers and bringing the latest technology and solutions to help the Army stay one step ahead of our adversaries and prepare now for the battlespace of the future.”
CECOM sustains the Army’s command, control, communications, IT, cyber, intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and medical systems, which soldiers use to monitor the battlefield and carry out operations in real time.
Under the task order, GDIT will support the Army’s current and future C5ISR-M systems, such as radios, command and control, and environmental control systems.
The company will also provide hardware, software and field maintenance support, and deploy experienced personnel to make sure soldiers can operate these systems across 190 locations worldwide.
