Knox Systems has launched its Impact Level 5 environment sponsored by the U.S. Space Force.
The new environment is a secure, mission-ready landing zone for commercial software and AI applications for the Department of War’s sensitive workloads, like Controlled Unclassified Information and mission-critical national security systems, the company said.
“The American warfighter deserves the same leading edge technology the private sector can access – without sacrificing security,” said Irina Denisenko, CEO of Knox Systems. “Space Force’s sponsorship of the Knox IL5 environment makes this possible at speed and scale. I’m proud that, together, we’ll help enable the next phase of defense innovation.”
The Knox IL5 landing zone is built as a separate, dedicated boundary, and extends Knox’s FedRAMP High and Impact Level 4 DOW capabilities. The platform meets the heightened security, isolation and operational requirements of high-impact defense missions while allowing technology companies to deploy more quickly without building and managing their own government cloud environments.
“Government should not have to choose between the strongest security standards and access to the best commercial technology,” said Hemant Baidwan, former Homeland Security Department CISO and current executive CISO at Knox.
“IL5 raises the bar for both. With Space Force’s sponsorship, we’re bringing mission-ready capabilities into some of the Department of War’s most sensitive workloads, both at the height of security and at speed.”
Knox has 16 federal and defense sponsors and supports SaaS and AI providers including Adobe, Sierra, Vannevar and Sift.
