    Joe Kehoe

Managing Director, Department of War Market, Maximus

By building a Risk Management Framework AI Automation capability, Joe Kehoe’s team cut the accreditation time for new systems on a Department of War network from up to 18 months down to just three to six months.

That accreditation runs through a seven-step RMF and ends in an authorization to operate, and today it is heavily manual work that falls mostly on system owners. The capability generates the system blueprint, uses AI to validate security controls, and feeds a central monitoring platform so accreditation moves faster without cutting corners on security.

“I’m proud of how our team continues to translate innovation into real, mission-focused outcomes for our clients,” Kehoe said. “We’re not just bringing new technologies to the table. We’re helping agencies fundamentally change how they operate and deliver results. That impact is what drives us every day.”

    Why Watch

In 2026, Kehoe’s team is turning what they proved with RMF automation into something repeatable. They’re integrating AI, data and cloud into scalable solutions across the department, prioritizing measurable efficiency, faster decision-making and improved warfighter capability. Greater investment in talent and delivery models this year helps bring innovation to clients faster, he added.

“One important way I’m helping government customers operate more efficiently is by aligning their technology investment directly to mission outcomes, ensuring every initiative and solution has a clear line to measurable value,” Kehoe said. “We focus on reducing complexity by streamlining processes, modernizing legacy systems, and enabling data-driven decision-making. This approach helps agencies move faster, optimize resources and deliver better results for the people they serve.”

Jeff London, senior managing director of federal at Maximus, said Kehoe connects strategic vision with tangible results for federal clients.

“His leadership has been instrumental in driving meaningful innovation while maintaining a sharp focus on mission outcomes and client success,” London said. “He continues to build high-performing teams that deliver lasting value across some of Maximus’ most critical engagements.”

Fun fact: A former college athlete and four-time Ironman finisher, Kehoe knows that reaching goals takes determination and the drive to keep moving no matter what gets in the way. He brings the same discipline, focus and commitment to his career and client delivery.
